History of Mennonite English Senior Secondary School
Mennonite English Senior Secondary School, C.G., stands for the glory of God and the service of mankind through education.
The school has been providing the best opportunities for students to grow, develop life survival skills, and build strong character. It has consistently strived for excellence both academically and in extracurricular activities, ensuring the all-round development of every student.
Mennonite English Senior Secondary School is situated in the heart of the city, spread across a wide campus area. It was established in 1974 in a small building with just 10 kindergarten students. The school was inaugurated through the great efforts of Mrs. K. Martin and Mrs. Malagar (In Spirit and Love).
The first few students included Shashi Malagar, Rubina Dutta, Rupam Nathan, Amardeep Anand, and Rupesh Rajput. There were only two teachers at that time β Mrs. Satyavati Malagar and Mrs. Dutta. These students cleared the first batch in 1986 (Class 11th) through the M.P. Board. During this period, Mr. Keshaw Rao served as the Principal.
Initially, the school functioned in three different buildings β Pre-Primary, Primary, and High School. With the growing needs of time, the school was centralized into a new building.
The new building, with six rooms, was inaugurated on 7th September 1987 by the Honorable Shri Arjun Singh, Minister of Communication, Government of India. During this time, Mr. S. K. Harishchandra (In Spirit and Love) was the Principal. Today, the school proudly has 48 fully equipped rooms.
The school received CBSE affiliation in 1996 under the guidance of G. O. Harishchandra. New subjects such as Commerce, Physical Education, Home Science, and Computer Education were introduced.
